PEAKS AND VALLEYS
Peakes and Valleys
Too brittle boned
To roam,
Too weary
To chase rainbows
Upon mountain tops.
My heart is spent
Life’s pursuits
Has worn it out ,
My gushing valleys
Are depleted,
My hunger
Quietly receded.
All that I ever craved
Went to slumber
A million moons ago,
I was once a dreamer,
But now, I dream no more.
Weeds grow in my garden,
The roses died long ago,
I have become
Bits and pieces of
What once was,
Departure arrives soon,
So I sit in silence
Sipping tea leaves
Of gratitude,
Remembering with a smile,
All that has come and gone,
And all to come.
